‘Piper Chatfield’ is backed by owners with a distinguished history in conservation, restoration and furniture building, sharing between them more than sixty years’ experience. We want to make available the furniture we’d love to have in our own homes.

We want to revive the instinct to enhance and make individual your home, escaping from the slavish following of fashion for the pale, bland and identical-looking style that has been so recognisable everywhere for the last two decades. Our high quality, unusual, stock of antiques have been conserved with integrity and reflect Colin’s passion and knowledge of furniture and its social history (he is one of the country’s finest conservators, having worked on priceless pieces for The National Trust, top museums and the Oxford colleges).
