About the Business
Piggeries isn't a business, it's a way of life. In 1989 we started selling nice quality pieces of hand stripped and restored pine furniture we'd acquired out of our barn on the weekends. We hadn't a clue what marketing was all about, but hung a hand painted sign outside saying 'Piggeries Pine' and hoped for the best! Fortunately our customers were more savvy and told their friends about us, who in turn told their friends and word got around. Demand soon outstripped our stripped pine(!) and we started to stock items from manufacturers whom we knew and trusted. A quarter of a century later, nothing much has changed from the quality point of view, we are still really fussy about what we stock, but at least you can now come along any day of the week to see it.
Besides the opening hours growing, our range has too. Real Antique pine pieces mingle with items made from reclaimed timber in an extensive variety of finishes.
