About the Business
Back in 1978 a small business called Country Woodwork started up in the East Riding village of Great Kelk specialising in manufacturing 'Own Brand' Kitchens, Bedrooms and Study furniture to the showroom trade. From it's humble beginnings, in the Old Blacksmiths Forge, the company grew from a one man operation to a company employing over 40 tradesmen supplying high quality bespoke furniture throughout the UK and USA. Having outgrown their premises on 2 occasions the company was sold to a much larger national kitchen group.
Immediately following the national groups closure the original founder of Country Woodwork, Mr Tim Johnson, along with three of his colleagues formed 'The OriginalWoodwork Company'. Today we have re established the high quality and service capable of supporting top-end bespoke retailers, as we did prior to selling to the national company. All our staff were hand-picked from the original company and all are in-love the work they produce.
