About the Business
We are a small family business established in 1972, as a one man business, making wooden chair and sofa frames for the upholstery trade. In 1980 we had 10 employees and purchased more up-to-date machinery. Then in 2003 we made the business into a Limited Company, with founder Keith Johnstone (Managing Director), Doreen Johnstone (Director), Melanie Glendinning (Company Secretary) and Kevin Johnstone (Director). We specialise in fully polished frames for chairs, sofas, stools and tables, for hospitals, nursing homes, hotels and restaurants.
Also stuffover frames for the upholstery trade. Today we are still a small family run business employing 10 fully skilled workmen. Andrew Johnstone is the Production Manager, who has a background in engineering and specialises in Bespoke Furniture for Interior Designers. He also does all the prototype work for the business.
