About the Business
When it comes to working with wood, Damian Head has been part of the furniture for all of his adult life. Completing his City and Guilds in Advanced Joinery at Southampton Technical College in 1989, he started work as an apprentice cabinet maker and joiner. In 1992, he joined his father's company, where he became responsible for designing and making purpose-built joinery, cabinets and kitchens.
Wanting to enhance his skills further still, Damian returned to education and in 2009 obtained his City and Guilds qualification in Furniture Making at Highbury College, gaining a Distinction. He took the opportunity to work alongside a well-established furniture designer and maker in Wiltshire, before starting his own business in January 2010.
Damian has a passionate interest in Hampshire Art and Craft, based at the Rum's Eg Gallery and Cafй in Bell Street, Romsey, which he helped to found and refurbish from its original shell, and where he currently exhibits.
