About the Business
I retired in 2004 after 17 years service as a Marine Engineer Officer in the Royal Navy. Whilst in the service cabinet making was a 'paying hobby', but it was always my ambition to develop it into a second career. To this end, formal training, in the form of short courses, mainly at West Dean College, were completed during leave periods, alongside making one off pieces, some of which were to commission. Having left the service, I refined and honed my skills and techniques with David Charlesworth over a 36 week period, in preparation to venture into my new working environment. I now design and make pieces of fine, hand built furniture, having taken the time to develop the specific needs and requirements of my customers. I apply attention to detail coupled with the wood's natural characteristics, movement and known behaviour to all my designs.
